Urban Food Forest – Miyawaki Concept

Urban Food Forest – Miyawaki Concept

Introduction

We plan to create an urban food forest. Reckless development, industrial processes of extraction, production, and consumption have detracted natural resources and depleted topsoil. The food forest will grow becoming more resilient and biologically diverse over the years. Most importantly it will provide a natural habitat for other species disturbed by the fragmentation of urban sphere. We also pay attention from micro to the macro constituents of the soil biosphere to maintain underground biodiversity. For that we rely on soil tests of different sites for comparison to improve our understanding of soil health.
